Probably the best known load carrier is and remains the Euro pallet. For some time now, this has not only been used for the transport and storage of goods, but also for the construction of beds, wardrobes, sofas and much more. However, the Euro pallet is not only one of many numerous pallets but also only one of many other different load and special load carriers. We are happy to give you an overview of the variety of these different types below.
Euro pallet, EPAL, returnable pallet in Euro size, Europol pallet - no matter what you call it, it always means the same flat pallet made of eleven boards and nine blocks. It is standardized to a length of 1200 mm and a width of 800 mm. It is easy to handle, exchangeable, easy to transport by truck and therefore, whenever possible, the first choice as a loading aid.
The Düsseldorf pallet is much less well known - even though it is not so different from the Euro pallet. Its dimensions of 600 mm x 400 mm show that it is half an EPAL. In principle, it has all the positive features of the EPAL: high load-bearing capacity, exchangeable, easy to transport and store in high-bay and pallet warehouses.
The industrial pallet made of pine wood also differs primarily in its base area (1200 mm x 1000 mm). It can also be transported with industrial trucks as well as forklifts or pallet trucks. It can be divided into two categories: Euro pallet type 2 and 3. These differ in dead weight and load capacity, but not in construction.
Unlike the pallets mentioned so far, the one-way pallet is not a special pallet or exchange pallet. During transport, the pallet is not taken back by the sender but remains with the recipient. This saves shipping costs incurred during collection. Depending on its condition, it can still be used more than once. In addition, it is cheaper to produce.
As the name suggests, the chemical pallet was designed to carry chemical goods and hazardous materials. In the meantime, it has also established itself for numerous other types of goods due to its high quality standard. It is divided into nine different types: CP1 to CP9. These differ in the complexity of the construction, the load capacity, the stability and thus also in the price.
The food pallet also owes its name to its function: Originally designed for the meat industry, it has since become accepted as a general load carrier for food. Since it is made entirely of plastic, it weighs only 18 kg. The most frequently tested pallet is available in a wide variety of designs - from the Euro size to a box, there is something suitable for every product.
A great advantage of the rolling pallet is that it can be moved without any aids due to the fact that it is equipped with wheels or rollers. This makes it very popular especially in catering and gastronomy, but also for private use. The rolling pallet is available in the various euro sizes and is usually made of polypropylene, which makes it light and sturdy at the same time.

A particularly stable load carrier is the lattice box or mesh box pallet. The qualification for pallet exchange, the sevenfold stackability, the Euro dimension and the ability of the boxes to be transported on the forklift make the mesh box pallet a useful container. It is also ideal for storage in block warehouses. Disadvantages are the costly empty transports and the high dead weight.
BigBags are exactly what the name promises: a large bag. The international term for this is Flexible Bulk Container or FIBC for short. It consists of a flexible plastic fabric and is therefore perfectly suited for bulk materials. It is therefore primarily used on construction sites for building rubble and construction waste, as well as for private garden waste and the like. It is transported with the help of the attached lifting loops.
The robust small load carrier (KLT) is an optimal protection for small parts and sensitive goods. It is mainly used for vendor parts in the automotive industry. This load carrier is also standardized, available in the dimensions of the Euro pallet and stackable several times. Due to its frequent use, it is also more environmentally friendly than most packaging.
